The Generator is an Ontario, Canada based Local Internet Marketing Company.

We specialize in increasing the regional web presence of small businesses and organizations.

The effectiveness of marketing efforts in traditional print, television and radio is fading with the changing patterns of media consumption.  Your potential clients or consumers are now searching the Internet to find the products or services that you offer. If they don’t know your web address or company name, how will they find you? If you are not ranked high in the search engines, engage with them through social media or advertise where they are browsing, you may be missing a substantial market.

We believe in:

  • Affordability – Our optimization service is a one time fee. There is no need for  Companies to charge customers an ongoing monthly fee for optimization. Once it is done – it’s done.
  • Customized Work – We research and understand your business and your Internet Marketing goals so that we can give you great value.
  • Ethical practices – We research and engage in optimization ourselves. We do not use any automated programs that might endanger your standing in the Search Engines.
  • Empowerment – We put the control of decisions, changes, and the future of your website back into your hands. All programs, documents, passwords and reports are transferred and explained to you.

Our Process

The Generator develops an Online Marketing Analysis and Proposal after research and discussion with the client. The proposal contains both analysis and suggestions for optimizing the website’s online marketing. The proposal’s aim is to inform the client about their current online marketing position and how it can be improved through  Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing campaigns.

The client’s role is to review, suggest changes and confirm the elements and budget of the campaign.

The Generator’s Online Marketing Analysis and Proposal length may vary but will contain the components below.

Components:

  1. Understanding the purpose and function of the business.
  2. How the current or “in development” website functions.
  3. What are the keywords used in offline marketing material.
  4. What are the current keywords in the website text (if live).
  5. Report on the number of search queries per month for the keywords used in offline and online text.
  6. Report on similar, general and related search queries per month.
  7. Suggested changes to the website text based on the above keyword analysis.
  8. Suggestions for meta tags and titles.
  9. Suggested search engine marketing keyword list based on the above analysis.
  10. Report on the current number of links verified by Google and MSN/Yahoo (if live).
  11. Report on the current organic search standing in Google and Yahoo/MSN for the company name (if live), and other keyword searches used to find similar businesses.
  12. Research of competitors websites, page rank, links, etc. to help determine client’s competitive advantage.
  13. A list of competitors engaged in Search Engine Marketing.
  14. Current CPC per keyword that competitors are paying.

Based on the above information, the client is asked to approve all keywords to be used in website text and tags, SEM and link campaigns. The client is asked to set and confirm a monthly online marketing budget, campaign elements and authorize the Generator to carry out the internet marketing campaign based on an agreed timeline.

Code Changes

We provide the copyedited text for web pages based on initial drafts by the client or web designer. We offer cut and paste HTML code for titles and tags that we can do or give to web developers. Our preferred data measurement program – Google Analytics, is a simple cut and paste self-populating code. Google Site Map that improves site index ability is a simple cut and paste self-populating code. Both of these can be done by the web developer or by us with access to the code.
